| The reporter will focus primarily on investigating and reporting on local government institutions, particularly Vallejo police.The City of Vallejo's government has demonstrated resistance to reform, with numerous instances of corruption and a lack of transparency. The corps member, through rigorous investigative reporting, will expose these issues, fostering accountability and driving much-needed reform. In addition, the beat will also cover a range of other underreported issues that deeply impact the Vallejo community, including racial justice, LGBT+ rights, women’s rights, labor issues and more. Salary and Benefits: $70,000 – $85,000 annually Open Vallejo offers employees a flexible working environment, a remote-first workplace, competitive pay, and comprehensive benefits including health, vision, dental, and life insurance (100% of employee health premiums are covered). A 401(k) program, three weeks of vacation per year, a computer, cell phone, and a stipend for home internet service are also provided. This position will be: Hybrid (some days in the office per week) Moving Stipend: No moving stipend will be provided. |
