Collaborating with the Director of Marketing and Communications, you'll design and produce visually stunning print and digital materials that enhance departmental programs. From professional illustrations and publication layouts to dynamic visuals for websites and social media, your work will make a meaningful impact. You'll also contribute to special events and conferences by creating engaging displays, signage, and promotional materials. This role offers a unique opportunity to hone your design skills in a vibrant, innovative academic setting. Summary of Responsibilities • Manages the creative and design processes for print materials and websites. Plans and prepares art layouts for projects and follows specified requirements within designated schedules. • Develops graphics for the website and updates as required. • Creates electronic image files for online registrations and social mediums such as Facebook and Twitter, among others as required. Creates graphics for special projects, including conferences and general awareness pieces such as magazines, newspapers, and periodicals which may require electronic medium counterparts as well as print. • Designs trade show exhibits and digital displays. Designs promotional item packaging and label designs for professional campaigns. Produces and designs dynamic graphic projects by creating professional illustrations by hand and electronically on Mac workstation. • Collaborates with Marketing Director, Market Research Analyst, Web Programmer and vendors to coordinate the printing and delivery of materials and special projects. Proofreads, compares, and verifies the accuracy of all details for assigned jobs. Organizes and maintains digital image library. Digitally archives all projects on completion. Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree and one year experience related to Class Definition or an associate's degree with three years experience or any combination of education and experience totaling five years. Preferred Qualifications Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree in a related discipline plus one year of experience OR a combination of education and experience in the creative arts/graphic design/printing industries with an emphasis in current digital technologies and traditional methodologies totaling five years. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Knowledge • Possesses knowledge and experience of traditional and digital printing processes using publishing software, including Adobe CS6 (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) and Microsoft Office (Word and Powerpoint). • Knowledge of Web technologies and functions (links, navigation, cross-marketing processes and design methods) required for interaction with web programmer and marketing analyst in producing files for Web posting and other electronic outreach methods, including social media and email blasts. Skills & nbsp; • Skill in scanning, image editing, photographic manipulation, and color correction. • Skill typesetting using proper grammar and spelling. • Skill proofreading, font selection, and creating project templates. • Demonstrated organizational skills. • Demonstrates interpersonal skill when interacting with colleagues, superiors and outside vendors. Abilities • Ability to communicate professionally. • Ability to prioritize work schedules to meet deadlines and flexibility with ever-changing priorities as requested by supervisor. • Ability to deliver projects on time within deadlines.
