The Head of Marketing, Brand, & Creative will be responsible for leading all marketing activities for Hearts of Pine. Join us as we kick off our 2025 inaugural season! This position will offer a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to help launch Maine's first-ever professional soccer club and to bring a compelling marketing vision to life.

Reports to: Club President
Level: VP or Senior Director, depending on experience
Base Salary Range:
$75,000-$90,000, plus bonus potential
Relocation assistance: Negotiable

Responsibilities:

  • Lead all marketing team members and freelancers, across Brand & Creative, Social Media, Digital Marketing, Experiential Marketing, and Media Relations / PR
  • Develop and implement strategic marketing plans to achieve club goals
  • Plan and oversee marketing campaigns in an effort to drive sales and increase brand affinity
  • Collaboratively support community initiatives and player appearances
  • Provide brand vision for game presentation elements (e.g. music, programming, talent, signage) and work closely with operations staff to ensure all consumer facing marketing and brand elements are presented appropriately
  • Collaborate with the sales team to create campaigns focused on customer acquisition and retention, across season tickets, premium tickets, group tickets, and other products
  • Collaborate with the partnerships team to ensure that the club is meeting partnership obligations, while also identifying ways to create win-win initiatives for the club and its partners
  • Collaborate with senior management to ensure all creative assets properly reflect the brand and are consistent with marketing and sales objectives
  • Work with all other departments to ensure cross-platform execution
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the competitive landscape and the brand's competing strengths, weaknesses and market position
  • Develop and motivate team members
  • Work nights/weekends as necessary, especially on the dates of the club's 18 home games
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Experience & Knowledge
  • Ability to lead within a fast-paced environment and deliver on multiple projects in parallel, while meeting deadlines and staying within budget
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team
  • Experience coordinating marketing freelancers and media agencies
  • Ability to organize and oversee multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
  • Extensive understanding of creative production processes
  • Extensive experience developing digital and social creative solutions, with "big picture" brand-building always top of mind
  • Strong problem solving, decision making and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of how marketing, creative and media work seamlessly to help brands succeed
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Independent, self-motivated and creative
  • Proficient in a wide range of marketing and design software
  • Experience with marketing in a live sports/entertainment context, with a passion for soccer preferred
Experience:
  • At least 8 years of work experience in marketing roles
  • At least 4 years of experience within sports, entertainment, and/or startup environments
  • At least 4 years of experience delivering creative assets in accordance with marketing plans
  • At least 4 years of direct supervisory experience
