Shick Esteve is looking for an experienced

Mechanical Designer

to join our team today! The Designer is responsible for creating original designs of mechanical components, structures and assemblies, new or modified, to satisfy expectations of customers and engineering. This position requires the ability to conceptualize and apply independent judgment with some direction in mechanical engineering principles. The development of custom design requires innovation and original thinking.

What You'll Do

Generates unique designs from basic solid models, sketches and verbal direction provided by design engineering and project management.Develops design drawings which provide information required to fabricate the component.Creates conceptual drawings as required to obtain design review approval.Assures mechanical design compliance with industry and/or agency standards and published specifications. Initiates and conducts reviews with manufacturing engineering concerning tooling and/or special handling requirements.Communicates project status information on electronic packaging to internal departments (detailing, purchasing, manufacturing, etc.) and externally to customers, vendors, and/or agencies as necessary.Provides expertise to production areas as required.Responsible for entering design information into Encompix- ERP, ETO system.Performs other related duties as required.Team

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum experience required is 5 years or 3-5 years with an Associate's degree in Drafting or Engineering.Requires good oral communication skills.Ability to identify problems and seek solutions from more experienced engineers.Proficiency in PC operation, especially in the use of Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.Experienced in spreadsheet and word processing.Strong attention to details.Ability to work in a team environment.Ability to work flexible hours, occasionally in excess of a normal 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. schedule.Ability to plan and layout drawings without supervision.Knowledge of applicable software used in his or her discipline.Understands construction techniques, material properties and engineering principles.Knowledge of the other discipline requirements.Understanding of the project initiation, execution and closeout requirements.
