About the Project:


** Contract Project Manager needed 1-3 days/week for 1-3 months **


We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Project Manager to oversee the final phase of installation for a new, state-of-the-art broadcast video production studio facility. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in building a cutting-edge media production environment being built from the ground up.


Project Pay Rate for Duration: $20,000 - $25,000


Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Execution:
  • Develop and manage a detailed project plan, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate all aspects of the project from initial design and procurement to installation, testing, and commissioning.
  • Ensure that the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Vendor Management:
  • Source, negotiate with, and manage various vendors and contractors involved in the project (e.g., equipment suppliers, construction crews, Systems integrators).
  • Oversee vendor performance and ensure adherence to contracts and specifications.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
  • Effectively communicate project progress, risks, and issues to key stakeholders (e.g., senior management, technical teams, creative staff).
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops to gather requirements and ensure alignment.
  • Risk & Issue Management:
  • Proactively identify and assess potential project risks and issues.
  • Develop and implement mitigation strategies to minimize project delays and disruptions.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Implement quality control measures throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct thorough testing and inspections to ensure that the installed systems meet all technical and operational requirements.
  • Documentation:
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, schedules, budgets, contracts, and meeting minutes.
  • Create and deliver clear and concise project reports.


Qualifications:

  • Proven Experience: 5+ years of demonstrable experience in managing complex technology infrastructure projects, ideally within the broadcast or media production industry.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of broadcast video production technology, including cameras, switchers, audio systems, lighting, networking, and post-production workflows.
  • Project Management Skills: Proven ability to plan, execute, and deliver projects on time and within budget. Proficient in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
  • Vendor Management: Experience in sourcing, negotiating with, and managing vendors and contractors.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Organized & Detail-Oriented: Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail.


Bonus Points:

  • PMP or Prince2 certification
  • Experience with IP-based broadcast workflows
  • Experience with managing installation of technical infrastructure (structured cabling, facility electrics, etc)
  • Knowledge of current industry standards and best practices in broadcast/studio facility design
