About the Project:
** Contract Project Manager needed 1-3 days/week for 1-3 months **
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Project Manager to oversee the final phase of installation for a new, state-of-the-art broadcast video production studio facility. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in building a cutting-edge media production environment being built from the ground up.
Project Pay Rate for Duration: $20,000 - $25,000
Key Responsibilities: Project Planning & Execution: Develop and manage a detailed project plan, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. Coordinate all aspects of the project from initial design and procurement to installation, testing, and commissioning. Ensure that the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Vendor Management: Source, negotiate with, and manage various vendors and contractors involved in the project (e.g., equipment suppliers, construction crews, Systems integrators). Oversee vendor performance and ensure adherence to contracts and specifications. Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate project progress, risks, and issues to key stakeholders (e.g., senior management, technical teams, creative staff). Facilitate meetings and workshops to gather requirements and ensure alignment. Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify and assess potential project risks and issues. Develop and implement mitigation strategies to minimize project delays and disruptions. Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures throughout the project lifecycle. Conduct thorough testing and inspections to ensure that the installed systems meet all technical and operational requirements. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, schedules, budgets, contracts, and meeting minutes. Create and deliver clear and concise project reports.
Qualifications: Proven Experience:
5+ years of demonstrable experience in managing complex technology infrastructure projects, ideally within the broadcast or media production industry. Technical Proficiency:
Strong understanding of broadcast video production technology, including cameras, switchers, audio systems, lighting, networking, and post-production workflows. Project Management Skills:
Proven ability to plan, execute, and deliver projects on time and within budget. Proficient in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall). Vendor Management:
Experience in sourcing, negotiating with, and managing vendors and contractors. Communication & Collaboration:
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills. Problem-Solving:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Organized & Detail-Oriented:
Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail.
Bonus Points: PMP or Prince2 certification Experience with IP-based broadcast workflows Experience with managing installation of technical infrastructure (structured cabling, facility electrics, etc) Knowledge of current industry standards and best practices in broadcast/studio facility design
