About the Role

Applicants for the Executive Director position must have a Bachelor's degree in library science, with a Master's degree preferred, and at least 10 years of related experience in a library environment, including managerial experience. The role requires a candidate with a diverse background in higher education libraries, knowledge of electronic resources, library technologies, and best practices in teaching, research, and service. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with faculty and academic leaders, and experience in supporting a diverse, non-traditional student population. Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills are essential, as is the ability to manage resources to meet the library's mission. The Executive Director will be expected to develop and implement strategic plans for the library, evaluate programs and services, and seek external funding to enhance library programs, collections, and facilities.
