Salary:

Purpose

The Technical Writer is responsible for the creation of technical documentation for various types of products, services, and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Create, write, outline, and edit technical documents to include standardized operating procedures, work instructions, process flows, technical specifications, reference manuals, and product manuals.
  • Perform and document change order routing approvals in the electronic quality management system.
  • Work with subject matter experts and internal teams to obtain in-depth understanding of the subject/process to ensure accurate development of process, product, and technical documentation requirements.
  • Edit and format documents to be clear, concise, and easy to read in a way that is visually appealing and easy to navigate.
  • Draft, create, and maintain document templates based on process need.
  • Manage documentation projects, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating with other teams and stakeholders.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of relevant FDA CFRs, AATB standards, internal policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain acceptable attendance and punctuality for scheduled work hours and meetings.
  • Ensure completion of assigned tasks and responsibilities within defined timeframes.
  • Maintain flexibility to work outside of normal business hours during weekdays or weekends with reasonable advance notice to support business/operational needs when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in English, technical writing, or related field required.
  • At least 2 years of technical writing and/or document control experience required.
  • At least 1 year of experience in an FDA regulated industry for quality preferred.
  • Clearance of favorable background investigation required.
