Purpose

The Technical Writer is responsible for the creation of technical documentation for various types of products, services, and processes.

Responsibilities

  1. Create, write, outline, and edit technical documents to include standardized operating procedures, work instructions, process flows, technical specifications, reference manuals, and product manuals.
  2. Perform and document change order routing approvals in the electronic quality management system.
  3. Work with subject matter experts and internal teams to obtain in-depth understanding of the subject/process to ensure accurate development of process, product, and technical documentation requirements.
  4. Edit and format documents to be clear, concise, and easy to read in a way that is visually appealing and easy to navigate.
  5. Draft, create, and maintain document templates based on process need.
  6. Manage documentation projects, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating with other teams and stakeholders.
  7. Support internal and external audits.
  8. Maintain a working knowledge of relevant FDA CFRs, AATB standards, internal policies and standard operating procedures.
  9. Maintain acceptable attendance and punctuality for scheduled work hours and meetings.
  10. Ensure completion of assigned tasks and responsibilities within defined timeframes.
  11. Maintain flexibility to work outside of normal business hours during weekdays or weekends with reasonable advance notice to support business/operational needs when necessary.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in English, technical writing, or related field required.
  2. At least 2 years of technical writing and/or document control experience required.
  3. At least 1 year of experience in an FDA regulated industry for quality preferred.
  4. Clearance of favorable background investigation required.
