About This Role
The Carl R. Ice College of Engineering at Kansas State University is seeking its next creative and talented digital media specialist. The digital media specialist is responsible for developing and distributing digital and promotional materials in an effort to market the college to prospective students and other external stakeholders. These materials include but are not limited to websites, online and social media marketing that promote and advance college programs and projects. This position serves as a video producer, videographer and video editor in a variety of marketing, promotional and informative videos for the college, and manages media assets and archiving. As part of the Engineering Communications and Marketing team, this position also collaborates with others in the college and university to achieve brand consistency, coordination of messages and the highest standards for external communications.
A successful digital media specialist will:
- Produce, record and edit recruitment and marketing videos for distribution on social media, web, email and digital signage.
- Collaborate with the Division of Communications and Marketing’s video team to achieve brand consistency.
- Maintain and operate video, audio and lighting equipment.
- Develop and maintain College of Engineering website content following university branding and website guidelines using a content management system.
- Participate in social media planning, and create and schedule content across all college social media platforms.
- Manage digital sign requests.

Worksite Option
This position is on-site. This role is expected to be performed on-site five days a week with occasional traveling involved.
What You'll Need to Succeed
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years’ experience in video production (can include education)
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, Audition, After Effects, Photoshop)
- Experience with social media marketing
- Experience with camera, lighting and audio equipment
- Exposure to a content management system
- Exposure to proofing, editing and design of marketing materials
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills with word processing and spreadsheets
- Excellent aesthetic judgment
