Embedded Engineer II
An Embedded Engineer II is responsible for a wide range of audio-visual activities, including engineering, installation, troubleshooting and support of AV conferencing systems for a designated client of RoomReady. Daily activities include responding to service calls and tickets to ensure the best customer experience possible when receiving RR services. This role also includes performing regular maintenance on AV technology at the designated site. Additionally, this position will be a technical resource providing guidance and support in addressing service-related issues. This is a fully on-site role with up to 20% travel, requiring standard working hours, with exceptions for special events.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform all necessary steps to successfully engineer, install and test AV conferencing systems for designated client.
- Define requirements for successful processes and continual system improvements that are future focused.
- Provide End-user and interdepartmental training
- Maintain, repair, diagnose, and correctly install or replace AV equipment
- Maintains proper tools, materials and test equipment to sustain the highest technical quality possible within the constraints of strong financial management.
- Performs software and firmware upgrades and updates through testing, validating, deploying and tracking current processes
- Manages wide variety of different vendors and products
- Provide remote and onsite support for troubleshooting
- Filing repair, installation, and maintenance reports.
- Assists in the planning, logistics, installation and operations surrounding technical equipment for large events and VIP meetings
Skills and Qualifications:
As an Embedded Engineer, the ideal candidate will need:
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and AV drawings.
- Basic audio-visual design engineering skills.
- Ability to thoroughly troubleshoot systems and escalate to the appropriate resources when needed.
- Precise written communication abilities for filing repair, installation, and maintenance reports.
- Acquire and maintain knowledge of current products and the functionality thereof.
- Ability to effectively present product and/or other information to staff and end users as needed.
- Knowledge and understanding of industry best practices for standard industry brands including but not limited to: AvB, Dante, Biamp, Crestron, Cisco, Poly, Shure, etc.
- Knowledge of Cisco Webex, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom collaboration platforms & expertise in AV integration within these platforms.
Education and Experience
- Technical degree or certificate or equivalent professional experience in a hands-on capacity working with AV equipment.
- CTS or ability to achieve within 6 months of employment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel Outlook).
- Strong aptitude and desire to learn AV system troubleshooting.
- Relevant technical certifications from standard industry brands including but not limited to Cisco, Poly, Crestron, Q-SYS, Biamp, Shure.
