Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Senior Designer is responsible for design and CAD drawings for various types of projects. In this role, you will coordinate and manage projects, ensuring completion to support the various business departments. Responsibilities: Design various types of structures, machines, and components across multiple projects. Operate Solidworks CAD program to produce engineering drawings, including, but not limited to, structural steel, piping isometrics, equipment, fabrication, and layout drawings. Create 3D models, 3D assemblies, and 2D drawings in Solidworks and SMAP piping software. Utilize and help maintain the drawing vault software, PDM. Oversee contractors and vendors regarding work to be performed to ensure it is done as required. Review and redline vendor drawings. Investigate on-site work and progress pertaining to work that needs to be done. Perform field measurements to produce accurate drawings and validate drawings after construction. Maintain inter-plant relations and understand the needs of other departments. Work with others within the engineering team regarding issues relating to various projects. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures. Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: 5-7 years of CAD experience; priority will be given to candidates with Solidworks experience. General understanding of technical drawings. Technical education and learning experience in engineering and design. Ability to apply a variety of procedures, policies, and/or precedents used in combination; analytic ability and intuitive thinking required. Ability to address constant changes in technology and software, leading to redesign of existing systems and/or development of new ones. Engineering design experience in the manufacturing field is required. Up to 35% travel may be required. Experience with the International Building Code is a plus. Physical Requirements: Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Ability to perform duties under specific time requirements. Ability to adapt to changing duties and responsibilities. Must be able to communicate clearly.
