Salary range: The posted UC academic salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment. A reasonable estimate for this position is $66,259 - $74,576.
Percent time: 33% - 100%
Anticipated start: Summer 2024, Fall 2024, and Spring 2025
Review timeline: Appointments for fall semester are usually reviewed in March, spring semester in October, and summer sessions in February.

Position description:
The Department of Music at the University of California, Berkeley, is generating an applicant pool of qualified temporary instructors to teach a range of performance courses in the Music Department. These courses include, but are not limited to:
Music 141 "University Orchestra"
Music 143 "Gospel Chorus"
Music 144 "University Chorus"
Music 145 "University Chamber Chorus"
Music 149 "University Baroque Ensemble"
In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties include office hours, assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials (e.g., syllabus), and interacting with students outside of class time via email and/or bCourses. Some courses may require supervision of discussion sections taught by graduate students.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application): Master's degree (or international equivalent degree) or 3 years of professional experience.
Preferred qualifications: MA of Arts, MA in Music, or equivalent international degree. Or, three years of professional experience.
