Meteorcomm, a global telecommunications company that provides data communications solutions and services for the railroad industry, is looking for a UI Engineer II to support our growing Monitoring and Management Software team based out of the Renton area. We are looking for a talented UI Engineer II to create intuitive and easy-to-use user experiences. The ideal candidate should have an eye for clean and artful design, possess superior UI skills, and be able to translate high-level requirements into interaction flows and artifacts, transforming them into elegant, intuitive, and functional user interfaces. Successful candidates will have demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced, highly detail-oriented software development environment using Scrum/Agile development methodologies. RESPONSIBILITIES: Collaborate with product management and engineering to define and implement innovative solutions for product direction, visuals, and experience. Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering. Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user-friendliness to complex design roadblocks. Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas. Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive-level stakeholders. Conduct user research and evaluate user feedback. Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices, and standards. Sustain and support existing software already in production. Adhere to pre-defined coding standards and contribute to the review and enhancement of standards as needed. Practice Test Driven Development (TDD). REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science preferred. 2+ years UI experience with proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, AngularJS, JavaScript, and jQuery for rapid prototyping. 2+ years experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and site maps. Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, OmniGraffle, or other visual design and wire-framing tools. Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction. Ability to present your designs and sell your solutions to various stakeholders. 2+ years of experience using Object Oriented Programming (OOP) languages. Experience with using coding standards and employing code review procedures. Experience with producing technical designs and design documentation. Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with Agile Methodology a plus. Experience with test tools/harnesses and related software such as Cucumber, Ruby, Python, Google Test. Knowledge of Boost Standard Template Libraries.
