Marketing and Community Engagement Internship (Spring 2025)

The Richmond Kickers Pro Soccer Club, an independent USL League One team, and Richmond Ivy Soccer Club, a pre-professional USL W League team, both located in Richmond, Va., are accepting applications for an entry-level internship to gain experience working in Marketing and Community Engagement. This is a position for applicants seeking college credit during the Spring 2025 semester. The selected applicant(s) will report to the Director of Marketing and Branding.
The internship start date is January 21, 2025, and the end date is May 3, 2025
Position Summary
In this position, the individual will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in:
Representing the Richmond Kickers and Richmond Ivy as a Brand Ambassador at events throughout the greater Richmond community Communicating with various organizations to coordinate team, mascot, and/or individual player appearances Accompanying the team mascot and/or players to various community events and appearances Setting up, taking down, and transporting various activation elements for community events Engaging current and potential new fans, creating rapport, and building excitement about Kickers and Ivy soccer Assisting in the operation of the Kickers mascot social media account Assisting in creating and executing grassroots marketing promotions Assisting with game day operations and special events Other duties as assigned Qualifications
Must be a college student pursuing a degree; background in marketing, sports marketing, or another related field of study Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly desired, but not required Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is preferred but not required Basic knowledge of social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook is preferred but not required Must have access to a computer and a reliable internet connection for any out-of-office work Must have high energy and be enthusiastic Have a knack for striking up conversations with strangers and a passion for talking about soccer and connecting in the community Must have the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time Can work in the elements Access to reliable transportation required Must be able to attend

Richmond Ivy home games during the internship timeframe Ability to work independently and efficiently on a variety of time-sensitive projects Ability to work flexible hours, including but not limited to, evenings, weekends, and holidays Able to work well in a cross-functional team environment while maintaining a positive attitude
