Position Overview

We are seeking a talented Design Director to spearhead our creative initiatives at Adina Reyter. This role involves trend forecasting, competitive research, and the creation of design sketches and CADs. The ideal candidate must be based in LA, possess exceptional attention to detail, and have a profound passion for fashion and jewelry. A solid understanding of jewelry engineering will enable you to provide clear specifications for all design outputs. A positive attitude and enthusiasm for fine and fashion jewelry are essential. Proficiency in sketching and CAD development is required, along with a portfolio showcasing your previous work.

What You will be doing: Key Duties

Trend Forecasting

  • Conduct comprehensive research on current trends within the fashion fine and high fine jewelry sectors, presented in a well-organized manner.
  • Maintain a broad understanding of overarching fashion trends, including materials and color palettes, and articulate these trends clearly.
  • Generate innovative ideas inspired by our current collection, including new concepts and extensions of best-selling pieces.

Competitive Research

  • Monitor and analyze jewelry lines in the domestic and international marketplace.
  • Identify and present any missing silhouettes or styles that could enhance our current assortment.

Design

  • Create detailed sketches that include specifications for size, shape, and weight (metal, carats, etc.).
  • Develop CAD designs as needed for factory presentations.
  • Review all factory CADs to ensure accuracy in engineering and specifications.
  • Collaborate with factories to ensure designs are accurately produced and adhere to our quality standards
  • Innovate within our design philosophy, delivering creative and organized design proposals.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to style and help design photoshoots, ensuring that our jewelry is presented in a way that aligns with the brand's aesthetic and highlights its beauty.

Sample Review

The design process culminates not in the final sketch or CAD but with the actual product.

  • You will be responsible for reviewing all samples and providing feedback to ensure flawless production.
  • Recognizing the importance of details is crucial, particularly for everyday fine jewelry.
  • A comprehensive understanding of metal costs and manufacturing techniques will empower you to translate designs from concept to creation seamlessly.

What experiences you should have

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Masters degree in Jewelry Design, Fine Arts, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in jewelry design.
  • A deep understanding of the Adina Reyter vision combined with a strong artistic and creative perspective.
  • Keen eye for design trends and principles, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Proven time management and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Expert knowledge of the jewelry design process, materials, and production techniques.
  • Proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator, along with extensive knowledge of jewelry design methods across various categories.
  • Ability to inspire and lead a creative team through the design process.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, complemented by effective listening and negotiation abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to connect and collaborate across departments and stakeholders.

Additional Information:

The base salary range for this position is $160,000 to $180,000 . Actual salary offer may vary based on work experience. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
