Senior Associate Attorney in Advertising Law

We are seeking a Senior Associate Attorney specializing in Advertising, Marketing, and Promotions law to join our prestigious international AmLaw 50 law firm. This position is based in Seattle, WA, with possible remote work arrangements. Ideal for candidates with substantial experience in advertising and consumer protection law, this role involves advising a diverse range of clients, from startups to Fortune 500 companies, across various industries including retail, entertainment, and food and beverage. Salary: $295,000 - $420,000 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice on advertising, marketing, and promotional campaigns, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and international laws.
  • Draft and negotiate a wide array of contracts, including advertising agency, influencer, celebrity endorsement, sponsorship, and other marketing agreements.
  • Conduct reviews of advertising copy to address potential legal issues related to false advertising, claim substantiation, intellectual property, and rights of publicity.
  • Counsel clients on contests, sweepstakes compliance, price advertising, and loyalty/rewards programs to ensure legal compliance.
  • Represent and defend companies in disputes with consumers, competitors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Engage with clients to formulate and execute on strategies that align with business goals while mitigating legal risks.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.
  • Active bar admission in Washington or eligibility to gain admission promptly.
  • At least 7 years of relevant legal experience in advertising law, consumer protection law, and marketing transactions.
  • Proven ability to handle complex legal issues, with a strategic approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong foundation in drafting and negotiating contracts related to advertising and marketing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in false advertising, unfair competition, and National Advertising Division disputes.
  • Prior experience in a large or medium-sized law firm is advantageous.
