Minimum Position Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Graphic Design, Public Relations, Mass Communications, or a related field and a minimum of two years of relevant work experience.
Special Conditions
The department is especially interested in candidates who hold a Master’s degree, as well as those with experience using InDesign and Photoshop.
Work Schedule
Monday-Friday
8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
May require work beyond normal hours including some nights and weekends.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to maintain prompt and regular attendance.
- Excellent writing and editing skills (photo, video, text).
- Expertise in the use of relevant software for designing and creating materials (e.g., InDesign and Photoshop).
- Knowledge of online marketing and a good understanding of major marketing channels (ability to clearly define target market).
- Demonstrable social networking experience, including the use of social analytics tools (based on knowledge of best practices for professional accounts).
- Knowledge of basic web design and/or experience working with web content management systems, and an understanding of the basic principles of search engine optimization (SEO).
- Effective communication skills in both written and verbal form, including consultation with faculty members, student interest and enrollment in our programs, as well as sharing our research, academic programs, service outreach, and other newsworthy items with the public.
Job Duties
Overall Marketing and Brand Enhancement
Enhance the CHS brand through digital, print, and oral marketing strategies. Collaborate with the UofM Marketing team to produce marketing plans and materials that align with University marketing and branding guidelines. Develop, implement and evaluate clear marketing plans, strategies and materials for the college, academic programs, Centers and Institutes, and initiatives.
Development of Marketing and Promotional Materials
Create college, program, and center specific messages, brochures, flyers, banners, signage and other promotional materials for all academic programs, and Centers and Institutes. Coordinate publicity, photography, videography, web and other marketing and communications needs for assigned areas. Conceptualize and coordinate production and dissemination of videos for promotional use. Generate story ideas for printed publications, news media and online communications tools. Write and edit copy as needed for project completion.
Website and Social Media Marketing and Promotion
Manage CHS Social Media Sites and provide frequent, timely, and relevant content to reach priority population. Manage CHS website: develop, write, and edit website content that is attractive to and connects with the priority population; optimized for SEO and that utilizes user experience (UX) best practices.
Marketing and Promotion of all aspects of College
Identify marketing opportunities for academic programs to increase recognition and student enrollment, with an emphasis on online programs. Manage work done by Coordinator for Recruitment within CHS. Oversee video and audio promotional content in facilities. Oversees staff, which may include GAs, interns, and student assistants. Identify marketing opportunities for Centers and initiatives. Identify opportunities for marketing CHS research initiatives and faculty areas of expertise.
Analysis of Marketing Data
Conduct needs analysis to identify population-specific marketing strategies. Develop and analyze surveys, questionnaires and other forms of feedback. Organize market research and maintain a marketing database.
Development and Expansion of Alumni Database and Relations
Identify and implement strategies to build an alumni database, track and increase alumni engagement, and maintain ongoing communication with alumni.
