Lead Content Writer (remote allowed)

Cognizant's Digital Engineering practice is seeking a highly qualified content writer with experience in Content Authoring Script, Writing Content and Copy Writing, UX Writing, and Content Strategy. You will be part of a digital software team that works on high-demand applications. Our content writers have a passion for high-quality, reliable, and maintainable code. You will work side by side with product managers, designers, and clients, making decisions together to quickly deliver valuable working software to clients and their users. Our content writers are agile and retrospective, and not afraid to identify what we're doing wrong, so we can fix it, and what we're doing right, so we can improve on it. Above all, we judge success by the success of our team and the happiness of our customers.

Location: Shelton, CT, USA or remote

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement content strategies that align with business goals and target audience needs.
  • Create high-quality, engaging, and informative content across various platforms including web, social media, and print.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure content is consistent with brand voice, style, and tone.
  • Conduct thorough research to ensure accuracy and relevance of content.
  • Write clear, compelling, and persuasive copy for marketing materials, product descriptions, and other content needs.
  • Optimize content for SEO to improve search engine rankings and drive organic traffic.
  • Edit and proofread content to ensure it is free of errors and meets quality standards.
  • Develop scripts for videos, podcasts, and other multimedia content.
  • Create user-friendly content for digital interfaces, ensuring a seamless user experience.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve content quality and effectiveness.
  • Manage content calendars and ensure timely delivery of content projects.
  • Analyze content performance metrics and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
  • Mentor and guide junior writers to enhance their skills and ensure consistency in content quality.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail (6+ years of experience).
  • Demonstrate expertise in Content Authoring Script, Writing Content and Copy Writing, UX Writing, and Content Strategy.
  • Experience in Property and Casualty Insurance or Life and Annuities Insurance is a plus.
  • Show proficiency in SEO best practices and content optimization techniques.
  • Exhibit excellent research skills to produce accurate and relevant content.
  • Display strong project management skills to handle multiple content projects simultaneously.
  • Can work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Show a strong understanding of brand voice and tone.
  • Demonstrate the ability to create user-friendly content for digital interfaces.
  • Possess strong analytical skills to measure content performance and make data-driven decisions.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills to convey ideas clearly and effectively.
  • Show a proactive approach to staying updated on industry trends and best practices.
  • Have a passion for writing and a commitment to producing high-quality content.

Salary and compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $80K - $115,500K depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
