The Department of World Languages and Cultures at North Carolina State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Sinophone and/or Chinese Literary and Cultural Studies, beginning in Fall 2025.

Position Overview:
We seek a dynamic and innovative scholar to support and enhance our undergraduate program while expanding the role of Asian Studies across the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach and develop undergraduate General Education Program (GEP) courses in English. The standard teaching load for this position is 2 courses per semester (2-2).

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Establish and maintain a rigorous, impactful research agenda.
  2. Teach and develop courses in Chinese and Asian Studies, including GEP courses in English.
  3. Collaborate collegially within the Department of World Languages and Cultures and across the College.
  4. Actively serve on departmental, college, and university committees.

This position will remain open until filled, but we plan to begin review of applications Jan. 15, 2025.
