Overview

The Senior Media Planner role is a full-time position responsible for leading and executing media strategy and media planning for a Tier II regional automotive advertising account. The ideal candidate has a passion for media and a proven track record of implementing successful media tactics. This person must possess an attitude of continuous improvement and a willingness to continue learning.

This individual should have an interest in digital & traditional media, media strategy, media culture, and establishing successful relationships with teammates and agency partners.

Responsibilities

  1. Help develop annual media strategy and present and persuade clients on strategy and rationale.
  2. Work closely with Associate Media Director on tracking and reporting on overall campaign performance of digital & traditional media tactics.
  3. Oversee and implement the strategy and media plans for 17 markets in a specified regional territory.
  4. Gather and prepare all necessary materials and research.
  5. Work with agency partners to understand optimization needs and handle the implementation of plan revisions.
  6. Develop media POVs based on client and account team requests.
  7. Develop and actualize flowcharts and all related documents (media budgets, post-buy analyses, value-added reports, optimizations, etc.).
  8. Implement plans for assigned markets and understand analytics to provide recommendations and analysis of media plans.
  9. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Experience & Training:

  1. Experience negotiating media packages across different aspects of media to accomplish client objectives.
  2. Understanding of digital & traditional media planning principles.

Communication:

  1. Excellent oral/written communication skills are essential.
  2. Ability to keep the Director of Communications consistently informed.

Skills:

  1. A keen ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  2. Ability to maintain productivity while working at an expedient pace.
  3. Excellent math skills and ability to work with and understand numbers.
  4. Must be detail-oriented with high attention to accuracy.
  5. Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  6. Experience with media resources (Mediatools, MediaBank/OX, Kantar, Nielsen, etc.) is a plus.
  7. Must exhibit a high degree of professionalism, be a self-starter, quick learner, intuitive, and proactive.
  8. Must have an outgoing and positive personality with a “nothing is impossible” approach to daily tasks.
  9. Interest and passion for the industry and emerging media/trends.
  10. Understanding of all digital & broadcast media terminology, planning philosophies, and a willingness to learn as new forms of media emerge.
  11. Understanding of digital media, specifically programmatic, social, search, CTV, OTT & audio.
  12. Prior experience in retail advertising and/or the automotive category is a plus but not required.
