Woodland Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is hiring: Pianist / Music Direc

Woodland Christian Church is seeking a progressive and engaging Music Director who is interested in working in a loving and transformational faith community. Woodland is an open and affirming congregation looking for a candidate who is familiar with playing piano, church hymns, and directing a choir. Leading in singing hymns while playing piano is a bonus!

As part of the worship team at Woodland Christian Church, the Music Director will:

1. Provide music for weekly worship services including hymns and service music.
2. Meet monthly with the pastor and music team to coordinate music in worship.
3. Be at the church by 9:00 to rehearse with the choir on the Sundays they are singing for worship.
4. Coordinate other rehearsal times as needed, including special music (solos, duets, etc.) for worship.
5. Provide music for special services during the year, including but not limited to Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, and any extra rehearsal needed in preparing for special services.
6. Conduct monthly choir rehearsals.

Pay and benefits

This is a part-time position (approximately 10 hours most weeks). The rate of pay for this position is up to $12,000 per year, payable on staff pay days. This position includes paid vacation for 5 Sundays per year to be arranged in advance with the Pastor. This position does not include medical benefits or paid professional development. However, the Pianist/Choir Director may request funds to attend professional meetings/trainings to be approved by the Church Board. This position is directly supervised by the Pastor and Board of Woodland Christian Church.
