Job Title: Protestant Music Director

Location: Fort Myer, VA 22211

Duties:

• Perform as a Protestant Director of Music at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall on a weekly basis, consisting of approximately 10-12 hours per week.
• Facilitate the communal, public worship life to enhance the full and active participation of the assembly or congregation.
• Plan, administer, and evaluate the quality of musical experiences in collaboration with Religious Denomination Military Chaplain, Chaplain Staff, Religious Affairs Specialists, and the DA Civilian workforce.
• Provide support for those services for which no Unit Ministry Team (UMT) members (Chaplains and Religious Affairs Specialists), RSO Department of the Army (DA) Civilians, and volunteers can provide.

Qualifications:

• Years of experience as a church musician or member of the church choir.
• Deep knowledge of choral repertoire and Christian scripture.
• Possesses a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and has experience in leading in music ministry. Ability to lead music while playing an instrument (especially piano or guitar) will be highly beneficial for the work environment.
