Assistant Director of Music Ministry Job at Church of the Holy Spirit in Munster

St. Thomas More, a large, dynamic, Roman Catholic parish in Munster, Indiana is seeking a full-time Assistant Music Director. Candidate should have a degree in music, liturgy, or related field, be thoroughly familiar with Catholic liturgy and hymnody, and must possess strong organ/piano skills. Candidate must also possess excellent planning and collaborative skills, and the ability to work with all ages. A familiarity with Microsoft office and music composition software is preferred, but not mandatory. Responsibilities include:

• Selecting music for daily school Masses
• Scheduling and preparing student cantors
• Accompanying for several daily school Masses a week
• Rehearsing, selecting repertoire for, and directing the parish Handbell Choir and Youth Chorale
• Accompanying for weekly evening rehearsals for the parish Chorale and Schola
• Accompanying for weekend Masses, sacraments and other special and seasonal liturgies
