About Us: Pompton Reformed Church has a heart for serving Pompton Lakes and the surrounding community by hosting free monthly meals, offering our building to community organizations for events, and partnering with local and regional non-profits. We also deeply value building relationships by offering meetings and ministries for people inside and outside our church. Our liturgical worship services focus on spiritual depth and are accessible to people whether they have little exposure to Christianity or are long-time Christians. Currently, the primary songs are hymns played on piano or organ and we are also open to being led by other styles and instruments. We gather for worship at 10am on Sundays with about 70-80 people and hold 2-3 additional holiday services per year.

Position Description: The Music Director plans and leads the worship services in music and singing. They work with the pastor to choose songs and elements of worship that enhance the worship experience. Additionally, they are able lead the choir as they see fit. The time required can range from 6-10 hours per week.

Qualities and Qualifications:

· Experience in leading worship in a variety of styles and settings.

· Can lead congregational singing from an instrument and vocally.

· The ability to play the organ is preferred but not required.

· Can work with musicians and vocalists from different ages and abilities.

· Awareness in current trends in Christian music and worship.

· Demonstrated ability to work with, develop and lead others.

Additional Information:

· This is a salaried position

· PTO: 4 Weeks off per year (4 Sundays)

· Plan for services when away and arrange for substitute

· Required to lead holiday services
