Job Description:
The Content, Social Media, and PR Manager will be responsible for developing engaging content, managing all social media platforms, and leading public relations efforts to enhance the resort’s brand visibility and reputation. This role ensures alignment between the resort’s voice across online platforms and traditional media, fostering positive relationships with guests, journalists, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Content Creation and Social Media Management

  • Develop and manage a content calendar aligned with marketing goals, including blog posts, photography, videos, and social media updates.
  • Write engaging and brand-aligned copy for social media, website, email campaigns, and print materials.
  • Manage all social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, etc.), ensuring consistent posting, engagement, and community management.
  • Monitor social media performance and analyze key metrics (engagement, reach, follower growth).
  • Coordinate with photographers, videographers, and other content creators to gather and curate visuals.

2. Public Relations (PR) Management

  • Develop and execute PR strategies to promote the resort’s events, milestones, and seasonal offerings.
  • Maintain relationships with journalists, travel bloggers, and media outlets to generate earned media coverage.
  • Draft press releases, media alerts, and event invitations.
  • Handle media inquiries and arrange press visits, including itineraries for journalists and influencers.
  • Monitor and report on media coverage, maintaining a PR tracking report.
  • Manage crisis communications, ensuring swift, consistent responses in coordination with the marketing and operations teams.
  • Strategically pursue opportunities for Tamarack Resort to be recognized in prestigious awards and rankings with various industry and hospitality publications, both online and published.
  • Work closely with the sales, events, and operations teams to create content and PR campaigns that align with seasonal initiatives, events, and promotions.
  • Partner with the marketing director to ensure consistency in messaging across all channels.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in content creation, social media management, or public relations (hospitality or tourism industry preferred).
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Strong understanding of social media trends, tools, and analytics.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with media and influencers.
  • Experience with media monitoring tools and social media platforms (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social).
  • Photography, videography, or design skills are a plus.
