1. Proficiency in laying out Web design
2. Must be able to comfortably utilize the Adobe suite (Photoshop, In Design, etc.)
3. Understanding of the distinction between wireframes and visual design
4. Experience creating wireframes
5. Strong proficiency working on a Windows operating system (cannot be comfortable only on Mac/Apple OS)
6. Prototyping experience (tools such as Justinmind, Axure, Invision and experience preferred in making more than just linear, hot-spot driven prototypes)
7. Create engaging and effective visual design solutions for web, desktop, mobile, and tablet application interfaces, achieving business goals
8. Ability to create compelling visual designs while working within the established styles and standards
9. Closely collaborate with Technology and Business teams to solve for complex issues, like interaction models and data visualization
10. Generate multiple visual design concepts that meet product requirements, clearly articulate the relative merits of each concept, and make considered recommendations for which would best meet the project goal
11. Create and organize production assets
12. Strong design communication, presentation and negotiation skills
13. Strong visual design or interaction design portfolio of recent web, mobile, tablet, and software design projects

Qualifications

1. Must be able to work comfortably on a PC only
2. Agile (scrum) experience is a huge plus
3. Previous large company experience is a huge plus
4. Brokerage/banking experience is a plus, but not required
5. Collaborative attitude – We are a very low-ego group that work to create artifacts together, not as individuals
6. Ability to quickly understand concepts and contribute value
7. Ability to effectively take direction and work somewhat autonomously while staying on task
8. Strong conceptual skills (i.e., deciphering whiteboard diagrams and pencil sketches)
9. Comfortable with frequent iteration to designs based on feedback from users and business partners
10. A continued curiosity in subjects related to design and technology
11. Ability to work effectively with partners located remotely via email and phone
12. Need a basic understanding of front-end development (HTML & CSS) which would enable a cleaner collaboration with our IT development partners
