A financial firm is looking for aTechnical Writer to join their team in Palm Beach, FL.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop organizational standards for comprehensive documentation
  2. Develop toy problems that illustrate intent of functions, overloads, capabilities, and limitations within the math API
  3. Write user-friendly content that meets the needs of the target audience, turning insights into language, illustrations, and code snippets for user success
  4. Evaluate current content and develop innovative methods for improvement and wider dissemination
  5. Research, outline, write, and edit content, working closely with developers and users to understand the evolving math library and data science application
  6. Work with software developers to identify code documentation and other documentation repositories, revise and edit, and determine best solutions for data compilation, storage, and search
  7. Maintain searchable metadata on alternate descriptions of functions
  8. Provide level 1 support for users interacting with the Application UI and Math API, helping them navigate documentation and using their questions to inform documentation design

Qualifications:
Required

  1. 2+ years of experience as an effective technical writer
  2. Experience writing LaTeX
  3. Ability to quickly learn and understand complex subject matter
  4. Ability to write software scripts (C# or Python) in support of creating code examples
  5. Understanding of statistics and machine learning concepts
  6. Strong written communication skills
  7. Experience in working with engineers to improve user experience, refine content, and create visuals and diagrams for technical support content

Preferred

  1. Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in journalism, communications, or relevant technical field
  2. Experience in software development
  3. Plotting/Charting experience such as matplotlib, seaborn, ggplot, etc.
  4. Professional certification (ex: Society for Technical Communication)
  5. Experience in using XML tools to create documentation
