Product Design & UI Patent Attorney or Agent

Join a leading AmLaw 100 national law firm in an engaging role focusing on product design and user interface patent prosecution. This full-time position is ideally suited for candidates in Atlanta, Chicago, Washington, DC, Houston, Denver, Kansas City, Phoenix, or St. Louis. Work alongside a team of skilled professionals in a dynamic environment, preparing and prosecuting patent applications, and strategizing to protect innovations in software, artificial intelligence, IoT, and quantum technologies.

Salary: $230,000.00 - $390,000.00 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and prosecute patent applications related to product design and user interface technologies.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team of attorneys and agents to deliver top-tier patent prosecution services.
  • Engage directly with clients to develop and implement effective patent strategies.
  • Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses.
  • Participate in client counseling and opinion writing.
  • Work to continuously improve technical expertise in key technology areas.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record or equivalent experience.
  • Bar Admission in Georgia, Illinois, District of Columbia, Texas, Colorado, Missouri, or Arizona.
  • Admission to the USPTO.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in patent preparation and prosecution.
  • Degree in physics, electrical engineering, or computer science.
  • Proven experience in a law firm, engineering, or relevant industry, with strong writing and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in software-related technologies.
  • Expertise in artificial intelligence-related technologies.
  • Familiarity with IoT, networking, and related technologies.
  • Knowledge of quantum technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team framework.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
