Position Information:
Applications are currently being accepted for Graphic Artist / Photographer in the Communications Department, located at San Diego College of Continuing Education. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Selected candidate must be willing to adjust work days/hours based on the department’s needs.
Desired Qualifications:
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Develop a concept and translate it to visual form.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Manage design projects from start to finish while maintaining a high level of quality.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Plan and organize work.
- Prepare camera-ready artwork with printer’s instructions.
- Operate standard office machines and equipment, including computer hardware and software.
- Reproduce visual materials.
- Take, select, edit, label, and crop digital photographs for print and online use.
- Understand client needs and translate using appropriate graphics and media.
- Use desktop publishing and current industry-standard graphics software with high level of skill.
- Work independently with little direction.
- Knowledge of technical aspects of field of specialty.
- Knowledge of all aspects of graphic design for print and digital formats, as well as photography production.

Conditions of Employment:
- Submit “official” college transcripts as stated on application;
- Provide a Certificate of Tuberculosis Exam for initial appointment (Note: The certificate must be renewed every 4 years as a condition of continuing employment);

- Attend a new hire processing appointment in People, Culture, and Technology Services located at the District Administrative Offices.
