Content Marketing Manager

Job Summary:

The Content Marketing Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing BHG's content marketing strategy to support the company's marketing and business objectives. As the chief storyteller, this role is responsible for crafting a unified communication plan, creating compelling content across diverse channels, and ensuring consistent messaging tailored to various audiences. This individual collaborates with marketing colleagues, subject matter experts, and external partners to develop high-quality, engaging materials that resonate with customers, employees, and other stakeholders. Additionally, the Content Marketing Manager leverages data insights to optimize content performance while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations, particularly within the healthcare and behavioral health sectors.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the development and execution of BHG's content marketing strategy, aligned with marketing and business goals.
  • As the company's chief storyteller, creates annual communication plan and key messaging document that serves as a "source of truth" for developing audience-tailored content.
  • Develops compelling content (copy and accompanying visuals), creates editorial calendars, reviews and edits copy, and manages content creators, including freelance copywriters, BHG subject matter experts, agencies and others.
  • Works in collaboration with marketing colleagues to create content for multiple channels, audiences and deliverables, such as sales support/outreach collateral, website, email marketing, community impact reports, advertising and other initiatives.
  • Based on customer insight, works with marketing colleagues to map customer journey and create audience personas that guide communication.
  • Partners with leadership and human resources on communications strategies to attract, retain and engage employees.
  • Authors marketing guides and field training to ensure message consistency about BHG's unique value proposition and effective use of sales materials.
  • In collaboration with marketing colleagues, creates library of visual content (videos, animations, explainer videos, etc.), including planning, creating storyboards, and managing video capture, production and post-production process.
  • Supports events such as webinars and conferences with content, slides, etc.
  • Develops master slide library and slide decks for specific target audiences and applications.
  • Tracks effectiveness of communications programs and adapts for continuous optimization.
  • Ensures content complies with HIPAA, ethical standards and industry regulations, particularly related to patient experiences and outcomes.
  • Implements SEO strategies tailored to healthcare, addiction treatment, and behavioral health topics to enhance visibility and engagement on digital platforms.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 5-10+ years of proven experience directing content marketing programs
    • Preferred: Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, addiction medicine, or regulated industries with a focus on content strategy.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, broadcast media, business or related field
  • Experience developing training guides and conducting brand messaging sessions for healthcare sales and support teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills - writing, speaking, presenting, listening/interviewing
  • Strategic thinker; problem solver; relationship focused
  • Strong project management, decision making, and multitasking skills
  • Experience managing agencies and outside freelancers and vendors
