Job Opportunity: Design Assistant

The Design Assistant will support the Senior Designer and team in creating monthly market lines and managing clerical tasks with a high degree of confidentiality. This role is integral in ensuring smooth operations within the design team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist designers in sourcing specific fabrics and patterns.
• Create purchase orders (POs) and order fabrics from vendors.
• Organize clothing samples, fabrics, and maintain cutting ticket books.
• Prepare samples for scanning, sublimation, and courier shipments.
• Collaborate with patternmakers, CAD artists, and vendors to update pattern cards and complete Tech Packs.
• Manage line sheets, photograph and tag samples, and maintain style records.
• Follow up daily with vendors, dye houses, and coordinate mail requests.
• Problem-solve and communicate effectively with the team.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Fashion Design or equivalent experience preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in garment construction and fashion design.
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Knowledge of Tech Packs and garment construction.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
