Job Summary

Assist in providing instruction to students in assigned music classes; reinforce instruction to individuals or small groups of students, conduct warm-up sessions and rehearsals, model best practices and performance techniques on the violin, viola, cello, or double bass, evaluate student assignments, and perform other clerical tasks as assigned. This position will support the Orchestra Program and AP Music Theory class at the high school level.

Requirements / Qualifications

Education and Experience: Any combination of training, education and experience which demonstrates possession of the knowledges and abilities stated above, and the ability to perform the duties of the position.

Education: Graduation from high school and the equivalent of two years of college or an AA degree, supplemented by private or college-level training in music theory. Bachelor's degree in music or related field and three years of experience in a music program preferred.

Experience: One year in a music teaching environment; musical ensemble playing experience for at least two years preferred.

License(s), certifications or other requirements:
•Valid California Class C Driver's License.
