Responsible for supervision and implementation of all technical production elements (lighting, sound, scenic design and construction, etc.) for Music & Theatre theatrical productions, recitals, presentations, and concerts. The Technical Director collaborates with Music & Theatre and campus-wide audio/video/lighting departments to coordinate and manage professional and student staff, technical systems, equipment, and resources for all Music & Theatre events.

Position Responsibilities Supervises design, build, load-in, strike, and storage of all sets and props
Supervises lighting, sound, and visual design elements
Supervises setup, maintenance, and operation of lighting and sound equipment
Supervises the operation and maintenance of the scene shop and costume shop
Trains, mentors, and supervises student designers and technicians
Creates and manages production schedules
Ensures a safe, efficient, professional work environment
Required Skills and Experience Experience with scenic construction techniques, tools, and practices
Experience with theatrical lighting and sound design and operation
Experience with design and implementation of live sound reinforcement and audio recording
Knowledge of lighting for various stages (such as theatre, concerts, worship, and presentations)
Preferred Skills and Experience Experience mentoring and training students
Experience in AutoCAD/Vectorworks and Q-lab
Experience in ETC Eos lighting control software
Experience working in design/electrics/scene shops/stage management or run crews
Experience with production and post-production software
