The New York Post is seeking an Intern (12 hours per week) to join our digital team. This is an opportunity to join an iconic media brand and work within a dynamic digital newsroom.
Note: This internship is scheduled to run from February 3, 2025, to April 11, 2025 (10 weeks). Participants are expected to work approximately 12 hours per week.

- Source and craft compelling stories from wire services, ensuring they align with The Post's signature style and voice.
- Occasionally pitch and write stories of interest for The Post's online audience, showcasing creativity and an understanding of trending topics.
- Collaborate with web and social media teams to support dynamic, fast-paced coverage during breaking news situations.
- Use analytics tools to monitor audience engagement, helping the team understand what resonates with readers and why.
- Keep stories fresh and engaging by updating live articles with new photos, links, and relevant information.
- Develop innovative strategies to enhance content visibility and recirculation through tools like reusable blocks and info boxes.
- Review and refine live stories to ensure they meet The Post's high editorial standards and are optimized for digital audiences.
Requirements:
- Ability to quickly find relevant multimedia content, such as photos and videos, to complement and enhance stories.
- Comfortable balancing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced newsroom environment, meeting deadlines with ease.
- Passionate about online content, news, and audience engagement, with a desire to learn more about the industry.
- Willingness to use analytics tools to monitor reader engagement and assist the team in identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Enthusiastic about brainstorming new ways to improve content visibility and recirculation using digital tools like reusable blocks and info boxes.
- Organized and focused on ensuring stories meet editorial standards and are optimized for digital publication.
- Eager to assist and learn from experienced web and social teams, especially during breaking news situations.
- Interest in identifying compelling stories from wire services and contributing ideas for content that appeals to The Post's online audience.
