We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused ASM (Assistant Service Manager)/Service Writer to join our service team. This role bridges the gap between customers and the service department, ensuring excellent customer service and efficient workflow management.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers, addressing inquiries and concerns regarding vehicle service.
- Schedule service appointments and maintain an organized workflow for the service department.
- Accurately document customer concerns, vehicle issues, and required services in repair orders.
- Communicate effectively with technicians to ensure accurate diagnosis and timely service completion.
- Provide detailed estimates of service costs and obtain customer authorization for repairs.
- Keep customers updated on service progress, any additional recommended repairs, and timeline changes.
- Review completed work orders and explain services performed to customers at the time of vehicle pickup.
- Promote and upsell recommended maintenance services to enhance customer satisfaction and dealership profitability.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and professional service area.
- Previous experience as a Service Writer, ASM, or similar role in an automotive service environment.
- Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair processes.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to explain technical details in a clear manner.
- Proficiency in dealership management systems and service scheduling software.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications are a plus.
