Social Media Intern: Healthy Recipes for Moms and Kids

Lulo for WIC, New York, NY, United States

About Lulo:

We’re a Techstars × Samvid Ventures portfolio impact startup incubated by Blue Ridge Labs, the tech innovation arm of the Robin Hood Foundation. We’re looking for a passionate Social Media Intern to help us reach families part of the Women, Infants, Children (WIC) program.

WIC provides healthy food and nutrition counseling to children under 5, pregnant people, and postpartum people. Families are struggling to identify WIC-approved items, leaving nearly 40% (over $1B a year) in food behind. The free Lulo app makes redeeming WIC benefits quick, easy, and stress-free so families can access over $1000 a year in healthy food and feed their children what they need to thrive.

Your Role:

As Lulo’s Social Media Intern, you’ll focus on creating and publishing engaging content that inspires moms and young kids to enjoy healthy recipes. You’ll play a vital part in growing Lulo’s online presence and connecting with WIC families in New York and beyond.

This is a part-time role of 10-15 hours of work per week from January - May 2025.

Lulo is offering a $3000 stipend for the semester for this internship position. For students who may be able to receive course credit, we are happy to work with you and your college.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Creation:
    • Create visually appealing and culturally relevant recipe content tailored for WIC families through short videos and graphics.
    • Highlight healthy, WIC-approved ingredients and simple, kid-friendly meals.
  • Social Media Management:
    • Post and schedule content on Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.
    • Help brainstorm creative ways to showcase engage with WIC families and build excitement around healthy eating.
    • With Lulo team, act as a moderator for Lulo community Facebook page.
  • Community Engagement:
    • Interact with followers by answering questions, sharing tips, and building trust.
    • Share success stories and amplify community voices.
  • Analytics:
    • Monitor social media metrics to identify what resonates most with our audience and refine content strategies.

About You:

  • Passionate about healthy food, nutrition, and supporting moms and young kids.
  • Familiar with social media platforms, primarily TikTok and Facebook, and eager to create content that connects with diverse audiences.
  • Creative and detail-oriented, with a knack for storytelling through visuals.
  • Bonus: Experience with video editing or graphic design tools.
  • Speaking a second language (especially Spanish) is a plus!

Why Join Us?

At Lulo, you’ll contribute to a mission-driven team dedicated to making healthy food more accessible to families in need. You’ll gain hands-on experience creating impactful content for families while supporting a startup at the intersection of tech and social good.
