Job Description Summary
To assist with creating departmental social media posts and managing social media platforms; to promote the department and assist at events such as Open House, Accepted Student Day, and Student Mixers.

- Portfolio or design samples (website, Behance, or work samples demonstrating design and copywriting skills)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Developing social and digital media strategies to connect with current students and reach prospective students
- Developing and maintaining a social and digital media rollout schedule
- Designing social media posts and writing copy that is in alignment with College brand standards (visual and editorial)
- Publishing content on weekly basis, actively promoting and supporting Ringling College's Business of Art and Design Department by sharing, commenting, and engaging with content
- Assisting with gathering student work for display and promotional materials
- Researching and presenting new methods of engaging stakeholders and building community in the department
- Assisting with the installation of displays in designated spaces and at student recruiting events
- Assisting with event planning and attending department events such as Student Mixers, Open House, and Accepted Student Day
- Perform various related responsibilities including, but not limited to: photography, design and media production copywriting, and developing new initiatives to build community within the program
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to self-direct projects and manage time without direct instruction; Must be organized, reliable and able to follow through on assignments.
- Ability to perform all assigned tasks and proactively seek input throughout the process, pro-actively communicating and self-initating work when needed.
- Effective written and oral communication skills, including a strong command of the English language; Exhibits an eye for detail (including proofreading before submitting work for review).
- Advanced graphic design and copywriting skills to create content for social media.
- Must be proficient in Google Workspace, specifically for creating content calendars in Sheets.
- Adheres to consistent file naming conventions, file setup, and asset organization/labeling.
- Knowledgeable across all social media platforms and corresponding specs.
Education and Experience
- Must be enrolled at Ringling College of Art and Design.
- Major/Minor is Business of Art and Design preferred.
- Experience with various social media channels including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok.
