Instructor of Mass Communication

ABOUT THIS POSITION

Summary:
The Mass Communication Program at Colorado Mesa University invites applications for an Instructor of Mass Communication. Candidates are expected to teach the department's introductory class to mass media and courses focusing on social media/emerging media. The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester; some assigned courses may be taught on-line, hybrid, or via distance delivery modalities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Teach introductory course to mass communication.
  • Teach courses in content creation for social media and data analytics.


Minimum Qualifications Required:

•MA in Communication, or related field, with a primary specialty in social media.

•Demonstrated ability to teach effectively.

•Successful experience teaching communication.

•Effective communication and organizational skills.

•Desire and ability to work collaboratively with university faculty and staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

•Experience teaching university-level communication courses, especially involving emergent media/social media..

•PhD in Communication
