Industrial Designer (PM or Strategist)

Job Description Insight Global is seeking an Industrial Design Strategist/PM to support an enterprise design team. The position will be hybrid on site in Basking Ridge, NJ and/ or New York City. The team focuses on several different product portfolios for telecommunication devices and technology and smart device technology. This candidate will be responsible for managing the project deliverables and support team members within the design space. He or she will support the team in all project initiatives, budget conversations, agency negotiation, and documentation. Candidates should come from a consumer product design background and have prior project management or project strategy experience, ideally in the industrial design space. They will be the key factor in documenting design processes, building decks to present on industrial design project plans, execute on industrial design team strategy, as well as adapt to changes as requested in a fast-paced environment. Skills and Requirements 5+ years of background in industrial design/industrial design strategy or project management Strong understanding of the industrial design life cycle Experience with industrial design project planning and project documentation Comfortable with communication to internal and external stakeholders; ability to create and present decks explaining and showcasing the ID process and plan Understanding of core design tools- Figma, Adobe Creative Suite Experienced with tools such as - Arduino or CAD/SolidWorks, KeyShot, Rhino Advanced with design thinking, design strategy and design problem solving Knowledge of working within a Design System Soft skills ability to see the problem and find solutions, urgent, self-starter, can work independently HCI - human computer interaction or HMI - human machine interaction Google Suite experience Ability to translate complex technical requirements into consumer experiences null We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
