Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

This position is under the supervision of Entertainment/Audio Visual management and supports the day-to-day Catering/Convention operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (May include, but is not limited to the following)
  • Oversee the set-up and removal of AV equipment for Catering/Convention clients according to BEO orders
  • Reporting any add-ons and changes to BEO orders to AV Tech's and Catering Supervisor
  • Interfacing with clients when on property
  • Attend weekly BEO meeting with other departments
  • Oversee the entire property sound, light and special effects systems
  • Working knowledge of state of the art AV systems and equipment
  • Organize the cleaning of work areas
  • Troubleshoot and oversee minor repairs of AV equipment
  • Oversee and organize the installation and cabling of video, lighting and sound systems in different areas of the Hotel and Gaming floor
  • Assist where needed in the setting up of scheduled concerts, pyro shows and interdepartmental special events in regards to equipment load in, curtain hang, chair risers, stage set-up, lighting and sound set-up, tear down and load out
  • Must be available for varied shifts, holidays, weekends and overtime
  • Must be able to contact at a working phone or pager while off property
  • Regular predictable attendance as described in department policies & procedures
  • Other duties as may be assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Requires excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure of ever changing deadlines
  • Ability to read, writes and communicate in English
  • Skill in maintaining effective working relationships with employees and guests
  • Working knowledge of computers; theatrical techniques & lighting; basic carpentry; rigging applications; audio applications; televisions, monitors, video recorders, electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Understand and comply with all company and departmental rules and regulations, policies and procedures
  • Education: High school education or equivalent preferred
  • Experience: Minimum 4 years in audiovisual operation

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT (May be required in order to perform the essential functions of the position)
  • Position requires Team Member to enter & exit from the Team Member entrance which entails 4 flights of stairs (40 steps)
  • Requires constant mobility; standing and walking
  • Requires frequent bending and reaching from floor to ceiling; stooping, twisting, lifting and carrying up to 75lbs; eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity such as grasping, reaching, pinching and pulling. Requires occasional transporting pushing, pulling and maneuvering wheeled carts with static push/pull of 150 lbs. through crowded areas
  • Requires seldom use of hand and power tools
  • Must be able to work extended hours in outdoor conditions. Requires normal hearing and vision, although a trained ear is necessary for equalization techniques

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must have the ability to provide internal/ external guests with service excellence, have excellent communication skills and observation skills, and have an easygoing demeanor to ensure a fun and safe environment for our guests. Above average speech - both speaking and reading/writing English. Need excellent interpersonal skills. Work requires schedule flexibility which may include days off, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
