Senior Product Marketing Manager

Missioncloud, Los Angeles, CA, United States

We are seeking an experienced Senior Product Marketing Manager to launch products, position them effectively, align our internal operations to support these launches, and communicate each product’s vision, features, and strategy to our partners, our customers, and our own internal teams.

Expect high autonomy in exchange for comfort with ambiguity, agility, and a need to learn for oneself.

In essence, you will become a subject matter expert for our entire product catalog. This expertise extends to backend engineering concepts around AWS as well as highly technical domains like cybersecurity. So you will need to be able to quickly learn complex topics and distill them into the simplest forms that still retain their key elements.

This role is also fundamentally ambassadorial. To succeed, you must build strong relationships across departments in Mission (Sales, Product, Engineering, etc.) and our partners, including AWS itself.

What is your purpose? You help Mission to understand and become itself!—what the product is, why we’re launching it, what makes it different, how to sell it, what it can and can’t do, and how to best operationalize it. In all of this you’ll also be expected to act as the Voice of the Customer, understanding who buys from us, why they do (or don’t), and how best to engage them and grow sales and revenue.

This position is 100% remote.

About Mission

Mission was founded in 2017 as an AWS-only partner and this has remained its laser focus since its founding. Last year we were acquired by CDW and are now spearheading their dedicated AWS practice. We do 3 things: 1) help the customers of AWS to design and engineer their backend architecture, 2) manage the costs, complexity, and day-to-day operations of running an AWS backend, 3) and build software specifically to accomplish both 1 and 2.

Responsibilities

  • Launches: Execute go-to-market (GTM) strategies for the launch of new Mission products, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the SME for Mission’s products and Independent Software Vendor (ISV) partnerships, providing insights that guide strategic initiatives.
  • Messaging & Positioning: Develop and refine core messaging and positioning for new products and existing services, ensuring clarity and market resonance.
  • Internal Alignment: Post-launch, support operations and drive internal alignment to create a seamless, intended customer experience.
  • Public Speaking: Present internally and externally on Mission Cloud and partner services/products, demonstrating mastery of the company’s vision, story, and strategy.
  • Pricing: Price products according to market demand, maintain pricing calculators, and align to an overall pricing strategy which reflects the customer journey.

Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in Product Marketing, with a proven track record in high-impact marketing roles.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and compelling messaging.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and manage diverse stakeholders effectively.
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills, capable of driving initiatives from conception through execution and evaluation.
  • Technical Knowledge: Prior familiarity with AWS products and the cloud technology landscape is desirable but not mandatory—but developing this familiarity in a short timeframe will be.
  • Partnerships: Experience growing, managing, and enabling strategic partnerships and software integrations is a significant advantage.
