Education: In pursuit of (or recently obtained) a 4-year degree in a related field

Experience: 1+ years of experience in social media management across school coursework/projects, internships, and professional and personal experience

Reports to: Digital Marketing Manager

We are seeking a Social Media Intern who has the following attributes:
•Knowledge of the major social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, TikTok and other platforms
•Excellent grammar and creative copywriting skills, with an understanding of writing to different styles, voice and tone
•Ability to manage multiple client projects within a given day/week
•Familiarity and some working knowledge of Microsoft MS Word, Canva, Adobe suite, SproutSocial (or similar content scheduling tools)

Responsibilities

Research & Planning

Working with a marketing coordinator and/or under the direction of the digital marketing manager, the social media intern will participate in social media strategy development for existing and new clients. This phase of client work involves audience research, competitive analysis, researching industry benchmarks and documenting platform best practices.

Brainstorming & Concept Development

In addition to initial planning, the intern will work with the marketing team to brainstorm monthly social scripts and campaigns. Activities involved at this phase include role model research (copy & design), copywriting brainstorming, post concepts/storyboard/inspiration, etc. The marketing team will be expected to present concepts to the larger team for group critique for feedback prior to client presentations.

Content Development

The social media intern will be able to use company software tools to develop social content, receive feedback and make revisions. This content may be used for current clients and is expected to be publish (not spec work).

Campaign Management

As part of most social engagements, ad campaigns will be launched and require regular optimization. Working under the digital marketing manager, the intern will be able to set up campaign and optimize them for performance throughout the campaign, making adjustment for copy, visuals, targeting, etc. to obtain targeted results.

Monitor & Response

The intern will have the opportunity to participate in organic engagement strategies on client accounts.

Time Management

The Intern must be able to multitask and juggle several clients and projects simultaneously, adhering to established guidelines for prioritization.

Internal Meetings

The Intern is expected to attend several regularly scheduled internal meetings, such as: Morning Staff Meetings, Weekly Department Meetings, Project Kick Offs, and additional ad hoc meetings as needed.

Time Tracking

As an agency, we track time to account for the work we do for clients The Intern will be expected to accurately keep daily timesheets and track 100% of their client work at a minimum.

We are a Small Firm

We all pitch in to take out the garbage, run errands, assist other team members, etc... the list is open-ended.
