Technical Writer Job at Able Force in Poway

Estimated 3-month contract with possible extension(s).

This position is three (3) days per week onsite in San Diego and there is no relocation assistance available.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

- Partner with the development team to thoroughly document system structures, workflows, and technical processes.

- Design, organize, and manage detailed documentation within Confluence, including comprehensive system summaries, workflow descriptions and diagrams, charts, illustrations, and technical visuals.

- Create and maintain guides for technical procedures and troubleshooting.

- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly materials.

- Ensure accuracy and consistency by coordinating with team members and updating documentation to reflect system changes.

- Identify and address gaps in documentation while enhancing overall clarity and usability.

- Employ tools like Lucidchart, Visio, or equivalent platforms to create effective visuals and diagrams.

Skills & Requirements:

- 5+ years of experience working in a Technical Writer capacity creating documentation related to server and cloud infrastructure.

- Advanced knowledge of Confluence for managing and creating content.

- Proficiency in workflow creation and diagram tools such as Lucidchart or Visio.

- Familiarity with Windows-based environments and their operational nuances.

- Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively.

- Exceptional communication and organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience working with Internet Information Services (IIS), including basic configuration and troubleshooting.

- Understanding of system design, architecture, and software development processes.

- Knowledge of Agile practices and tools like JIRA.
