Job Description:

SUMMARY

Provides the technical expertise required for the design, installation and maintenance of media production, classroom A/V and video presentation systems College wide. Supports the College's streaming video server(s) & interfaces. Works with Capital Construction department to provide A/V room design, equipment specifications as well as installation on new buildings and building renovations. Provides the design, set up and technical operation of A/V systems required for large scale College events. Assists with special projects and technologies in Media Engineering Services and special productions with the Television Production units of the College.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Designs and installs A/V systems College wide including determining equipment specifications for purchase.
  • Designs and installs ATC classrooms College wide.
  • Provides technical support for the College's IP video streaming network.
  • Provides Tier III level technical A/V support College wide.
  • Serves as liaison between Television/Media engineering, College maintenance, ITS, and property control units to ensure operational integrity of installed and supported systems.
  • Provides media engineering technical support to College equipment design teams, equipment installation teams, and media engineering of television, conferencing, ATC, and related equipment/systems.
  • Provides engineering support for College wide A/V events.
  • Researches, evaluates and makes recommendations on purchase of new, or replacement of existing television, video, audio, broadcast and processing hardware and transmitter systems as requested by management.
  • Maintain the College TV studios.
  • Monitors and updates ATC classroom equipment standard used College wide.
  • Serves on College committees and special project teams and as the College liaison with professional organizations.
  • Performs other duties and special projects within the job grade and job classification as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate's Degree in a related field
  • 5 years of experience in a related field
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse population
  • Valid Ohio Driver's License
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 10 years of experience in a related field
  • Extron A/V Certification
  • Functional supervisory experience

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Must be able to lift equipment (up to 100 pounds

Special Note: This is a Full-time (1199/SEIU) Bargaining Unit Position, Grade 10. Full-time (1199/SEIU) bargaining unit employees at Cuyahoga Community College will be considered first for vacant positions.

Target Hiring Rate: Minimum salary $59,022/annually
