Editorial Supervisor DDB Health is a global network of healthcare communications companies dedicated to helping clients use creativity—and creative technology—as a force for good health. Overview: The Editorial Supervisor manages workflow and begins to supervise staff and freelance on more than one brand. They also lead the editorial process, give constructive feedback and evaluate work. They are an expert at managing brands/clients and builds relationships and reputation. Responsibilities: Lead editor, fact checker, and proofreader for a variety of promotional and educational materials for physicians, other healthcare professionals, and patients from manuscript through prepress. Able to handle numerous projects while supervising the work of other editors. The ES can triage print and digital pieces and offer suggestions for proper routing. Excellent working knowledge of several brands’ science and competitors, as well as client style, AMA style, grammar, and usage. Begins to supervise other staff and freelance editors, managing the timing and quality control of projects, including copy editing, styling, and fact checking. Learns how to deliver effective performance reviews by guiding direct reports through the goal-setting process and providing hands-on training. Able to train others in Best Practices, quality improvement, and applicable technology. Able to communicate well with supervisors and internal brand team. Represent Editorial department in client Agency Day meetings and tours. Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor’s degree Prior experience in medical content editing in pharmaceutical advertising agency, in-house agency, or medical publishing company. Knowledge of AMA Manual of Style essential Articulate oral and written communication skills essential Curiosity/interest in medical topics essential Organization, attention to detail, and the ability to oversee and handle numerous products at once essential The range below represents the low and high end of the base salary someone in this role may earn as an employee of an Omnicom Health Group company in the United States. Salaries will vary based on various factors including but not limited to professional and academic experience, training, associated responsibilities, and other business and organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees. Salary decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each hire.
