Job Duties and Responsibilities Communications and MarketingDevelop and implement appropriate research-based education and outreach plans and communication strategies with clear and consistent messaging that clearly reflects SWS's brand and communications goals and the City's NPDES MS4 permit requirements on water resource education and community engagement.Produce or manage the production of brand- specific written and visual materials, including videos, brochures, postcards, flyers, door hangers, web content, social media, etc. to support SWS's communications and outreach efforts.Form, coordinate, and manage the SWS Education Team, composed of both internal and external members who contribute as part of the City and MPRB joint NPDES permit and Stormwater Management Program.Collaborate with the Communications Department, MPRB education and engagement staff, and local nonprofits to coordinate, implement, and administer marketing and community outreach and education.Ensure outreach and communications materials are accessible in multiple formats and languages and ensure that all City geographic locations, communities, and neighborhoods are served equitably. Community OutreachCoordinate, implement, and administer community outreach, engagement, and education to achieve NPDES MS4 permit requirements and project, program, and initiative goals.Work in partnership with the City's Neighborhood and Community Relations and Communication Departments, MPRB communication and education staff, watershed management organizations, and local nonprofits to coordinate activities and events with external stakeholders as necessary. Plan and facilitate meetings, workshops, and community outreach with internal and external partners.Program EvaluationsThe position will collaborate with the SWS teams and other related organizations to identify, develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs and metrics that will have a measurable impact towards clean water and meeting NPDES MS4 permit requirements.Develop and implement monitoring, evaluation and reporting protocols to ensure program equitability, and efficacy as well as identification of emerging needs of various target audiences.Events and PresentationsPlan, manage, and participate in internal and external community and special events such as all all-staff meetings, community fairs and forums, etc. including the coordination of staffing, supplies and all associated communication.Work with the SWS Director and the management team to prepare and/or deliver presentations as needed.Support SWS with vision, conceptualization, production, and editing of talking points, PowerPoint presentations, reports, handouts, publications, and web content that are consistent with SWS's communication efforts.Prepare and make presentations to groups, citizens, elected officials, and staff and act as a liaison regarding specific SWS projects, programs, and initiatives.General Communications SupportDevelop, manage, monitor, and evaluate communications and outreach related budgets, vendor agreements and contracts for efficiency, productivity, and compliance.Draft/produce letters and other important documents for internal and external audiences.Collect and compile data for reports to gauge success of outreach efforts and direct future efforts. Required Qualifications Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Public relations, Communications, Business Administration, Environmental Studies, Environmental Education, Public Health or related field.Minimum Experience: Three years of experience that includes developing and evaluating educational and communication strategies and plans, conducting community outreach activities, using software and web applications to produce effective communication productsEquivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience closely related to the duties of the position MAY be considered.A resume is required.
