PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Senior Email Marketing Specialist will lead the strategy, execution, and optimization of our email marketing initiatives, leveraging your expertise to foster meaningful connections with our audience. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in driving engagement, nurturing customer relationships, and contributing to our mission of spreading impactful stories and messages. This role will contribute to both the Ecommerce and Publishing sides of the business, supporting efforts such as abandoned cart, abandoned browse, and product recommendations, as well as content-driven campaigns that promote our books, authors, and mission-driven projects.

Primary Duties
- Develop and execute a comprehensive email marketing strategy and calendar to engage, nurture, and convert subscribers in alignment with our brand and mission.
- Design and implement automated email campaigns, including:
- Map and optimize the customer journey to ensure email campaigns align with every stage of the subscriber lifecycle, creating seamless and engaging touchpoints from onboarding to retention
- Ecommerce Campaigns: Abandoned cart, abandoned browse, cross-sell, and upsell initiatives.
- Publishing Campaigns: Content promotion, new book launches, and author spotlights.
- Manage email segmentation, ensuring personalized and targeted messaging based on subscriber behavior, preferences, and demographics.
- Analyze campaign performance metrics (open rates, click-through rates, conversions) and provide actionable insights for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (ecommerce, publishing, content, design, and sales) to develop compelling email content and visuals.
- Ensure email deliverability and compliance with GDPR, CAN-SPAM, and other relevant regulations.
- Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in email marketing technologies and best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or related experience.
- 5+ years of experience in email marketing, with a proven track record of driving results.
- Expertise with email marketing platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Hubspot Marketing Hub, Adobe Marketo Engage, Klaviyo, ActiveCampaign, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of email automation, A/B testing, and segmentation strategies.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and optimize campaigns for performance.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail and tone appropriate for a Christian audience.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of HTML and email design best practices is a plus.
