Position Overview:
We are seeking an Electrical and Instrumentation 3D Modeler to assist in the integration of electrical and instrumentation designs within the owner’s 3D model. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and resolving conflicts in the 3D model, ensuring accurate cable routing, instrumentation tagging, and model updates, as well as collaborating with various engineering and modeling teams. This role requires proficiency in design software such as Autodesk Plant 3D, Revit, and Navisworks, and a solid understanding of electrical and instrumentation systems.
Must-haves Required Skills and Qualifications: Proficiency with Autodesk Plant 3D, Revit, iConstruct, Navisworks, and Bluebeam. Familiarity with Excel and VBA for data management and automation. Solid understanding of P&IDs, industrial instrumentation (e.g., temperature, flow, level, pressure), and electrical cable routing. Experience with the detailed design engineering process for the development of manufacturing plants.
Key Responsibilities: Assist with interface management of electrical cable routing, instrumentation design, and instrumentation tagging within the owner's 3D model. Develop and manage a change management process for electrical and instrumentation design changes, based on the project instrument index and load list. Perform clash detection resolution by identifying conflicts between design engineering firm models, third-party models, and the owner model for the controls and electrical disciplines. Collaborate with the modeling team to resolve conflicts. Manage electrical and instrumentation models, as well as CAD files, using BIM360. Collaborate closely with electrical, instrumentation, and control engineering teams to ensure alignment with the plant design process. Develop 3D models and 2D construction deliverables for electrical and instrumentation, including cable trays, instrumentation location plans, motors, lighting, enclosures, and electrical buildings.
