The Microwave Radio Systems Engineer (MRSF) will consult, engineer and implement microwave radio systems engineering projects including upgrades, improvements and expanding of the existing telecommunications infrastructures or development of new infrastructure. Technical Skills: Proficiency in microwave, circuit design, simulation, and system integration Strong understanding of microwave theory, principles, and telecommunication network architecture In-depth knowledge of RF and microwave measurement techniques, including link budgets and frequency planning. Familiar in using Pathloss or similar path design tools for designing radio links between 30Mhz and 100 Ghz Proficient in frequency coordination, PCN failing, and FCC license application filing process, including renewals Extensive knowledge of unlicensed microwave systems, including their design, deployment, and regulatory considerations Project management, estimates, budgeting, purchasing, and contracts Customer service Coachable and trainable Works well in team environment Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, particularly in diagnosing signal inference and equipment issues Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting data from simulations, field tests, and network performance monitoring Ability to develop and implement optimization strategies based on performance data to enhance system efficiency Communication and Documentation: Good written and verbal communication skills, with ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Ability to document design processes, installation procedures, testing results, and maintenance logs clearly and concisely Coordinating and logistics with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes
3 years of experience within the last 5 years of the following: specifying required system equipment, related materials and interfaces to the component and hardware level. Telephony equipment in the telecommunications transmission industry with direct, independent work covering the design and implementation of complex public safety FCC licensed and unlicensed microwave links, and fiber and copper span electronics; working directly with telecommunications equipment vendors and manufacturers; and working with project management principals, methods and processes
